Women’s Voices. Femicide in Art, Literature, Music, and Performance
Public Event organized by Prof. Dr. Julia Burkhardt, Prof. Dr. Mariama Diagne, Prof. Dr. Irene Holzer, Prof. Dr. Joanna Olchawa, Prof. Dr. Juliane Prade-Weiss (LMU).
In art, literature, music, and performance, there are numerous stories about women who are killed by men. But how does our perspective on these examples change when we view them as femicides? With this in mind, we invite you to participate in a “concert in dialogue”: We will examine the phenomenon of femicide in various art forms, thus contributing to a critical reflection on the visibility of femicide and how it is dealt with artistically. Our aim is to make visible the polyphony of voices about and by women.
